April 18, 2002 - 2.56 pm So, do we know each other well enough yet for me to tell you a little secret (because, you know, I haven't told any secrets so far!! grin wink) This is a possibly life-changing secret. Ready? Every now and again, I really like a country song or two. I know. You're shocked. It's OK. Take a minute to get used to it. Yeah, my life has been THAT exciting lately. :) I used to love country when I was younger KYGO baby, all I listened to. Then I found out country was for ropers and rednecks and seeings as I am neither a roper or a redneck, I switched radio stations. I remember feeling REALLY guilty abou that then. I felt like I'd abandoned the people who used to do the morning show. But I didn't want to be uncool! Anyway. Recently I have been reembracing my hick roots and have added a couple of country songs to my playlist. Country music is summer. I cannot tell you how many times I've been sitting on my back porch in Loveland with my parents and our neighbors, the little kids running around the back yard with some George Straight or Alan Jackson on the stereo, when I hear that music I can feel the warm breeze, and smell the citronella candle and feel the grass tickling my legs. I can hear my mom and dad chatting with my neighbors and the gleeful shreiks of the kids, who are playing in the sandbox in their bathing suits. And I kind of like some of the people in country music. You know what a sap I am, and it's so often about true love, and heartbreak, and being grateful. So now that I'm totally geeked out, I'm gonna go. Maybe listen to some punk rock so I can counteract this. Emily
