I have been so amazingly, incredibly busy lately. Yesterday, I left the house at 8.30 am and got back at 9.30 pm. It was actually a really good day, really incredibly busy. I started training for a rape crisis counselor position last night and I'm really feeling energized about that. I've been trying to really get up on the school work and still have time with friends. EH and SK got back from a break in Oregon and I got to see them last night and didn't really realize how much I'd missed them.
Today, I went to work, and then came home and what was in my mailbox?! YAY! MY NEW STEVE CD AND SHIRTS! So now, I'm like, blissing out in all my geeky glory, wearing a "baseball jersey" tee shirt with the red TLS logo splashed on the front and listening to the new CD which has a really different sound from the rest of the CDs and I'm LOVING it. True geek. Sitting here I'm feeling a warm sense of release and peace. Steve music often has that affect on me, and this cd has some little bitty speeches and I love listening to his speaking voice. I mean, duh, I love to listen to Steve sing, but I love how he chats with an audience, and then in creep the patented "Steve chords" and he seemes to just flow into the song. THE BEST THING EVER!
My sister and her pals will be here in a little while, they visited campus today and they're coming to my social construction of sexuality class with me this afternoon. Later tonight I'm going out with L, EH and an old acquaintence from high school.
Something really great happened last night. L and I had a tiny fight. Not really a fight, but we had a disagreement and it culminated in her saying "screw this" and slamming the car door. Instead of just leaving it alone, she called as soon as I got home and appologized and we talked about what had happened and I took my responsibility for the incident, because I know she hates it when I behave the way I did, and arguing takes two of course. I sort of knee-jerkedly reacted to it. But I felt really good about that phone call.
So, I'm feeling pretty good today. :)
